About the product:
My final product was a Solar system simulation that acted as an education tool. In order to create my product, I used software named Unity 3D. This software allowed me to easily link coding scripts to physical scenarios and scenes in order to successfully create both an accurate and visually appealing simulation in an effective manner. However, Unity 3D is extremely complex with multiple different aspects that needed to be managed at once, so I ended up spending a significant portion of the creation process learning how to use the software to its fullest potential (by utilising a range of online guides and videos). This additional preparation led to my final product being significantly more functional and easy to control/use in multiple aspects, while also increasing the creative freedom i had to add features and changes that would have otherwise been ignored (such as adding the feature to slow, speed-up and stop time in the solar system simulation).
Overall, the final simulation was extremely effective in acting as both an education tool with its accurate orbits and sizes of planets, while appealing to my target audience (Students 15-17) withs its extremely high quality aesthetics (mainly contributed to the high-quality models used, these models were originally created by Nasa).
